As a Project Officer, Diala is a part of the i-APS Technical Unit and provides technical and analytical support to the development of the third party monitoring methodology, including qualitative and quantitative evaluation forms, check list and data collection instruments, in addition to participating in the development of training materials for field-based data collectors. As Diala is fluent in both English and Arabic, Diala provides real time, first level of data analysis in Arabic and reports the findings in both Arabic and English. Diala also supports the report finalization process and ensures field data quality.
Diala is a dedicated humanitarian aid worker with intensive education and work experience in emergency preparedness and response, internal and external Monitoring and Evaluation tools, project support and planning for humanitarian aid projects during uncertain protracted armed conflict, with over five-year experience working within the Syrian Regional Crisis. Diala is a civil engineer with a master’s degree in engineering project management, in addition to a master’s degree in Water and Waste Engineering in Emergencies from Loughborough University in the UK., Diala also specializes in WASH for emergencies as has extensive experience working as a volunteer for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and a WASH consultant for Premiere Urgence International in Syria.
